Sen. Rand Paul Raises $7 Million

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has raised $7 million for his 2016 presidential bid.

A spokesman for the first-term Republican senator confirmed the fundraising total on Friday, less than a week before presidential candidates must filed their second-quarter numbers with the Federal Election Commission.

Paul’s team reports that much of his support came from small-dollar donors. More than 108,000 individual donors gave money, a sign according to his campaign spokesperson, of grassroots support.
