A Scott County family lost everything in a trailer fire early Sunday morning, but they consider themselves lucky to be alive.
Neighbor Cheryl Wren is credited with saving the couple. She smelled smoke and ran to house to wake up the sleeping couple.
“I yelled there’s fire, fire! I was having a panic attack, I was thinking someone in there was going to die or something,” said Wren. “I was beating on their door, I don’t know it was just scary.”
Samatha Bailey lives in the home located on Mulholland Drive with her boyfriend and two children. The children were with their grandparents and not home at the time of the blaze.
They lost everything, clothes, Christmas presents, they’re all a pile of rubble now.
The home had no working smoke detectors. Investigators say the home is a total loss.
