Richmond Man Fakes His Own Kidnapping

Richmond Police have arrested 20 year old Austin Kayor after he faked his own kidnapping.

Police say Kaylor phoned a relative early Monday morning and told them he had been kidnapped and they were holding him hostage. He explained they wanted $150 for ransom or they would kill him.

Police conducted a covert operation and found Kayor at a home on Ballard Drive. Kaylor attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended.

During the interview with police Kaylor admitted he lied to get drug money.

Kaylor is facing multiple charges including falsely reporting an incident.
