Elderly Driver Pleads Not Guilty

In Clark County James Pelfrey, 84, charged with 2 counts of manslaughter in the traffic deaths of Sarah Helfrich and Juanetta Mitchell was in court yesterday where he entered a not guilty plea.

His attorney told the judge the incident was simply an accident and that Pelfry was not a risk on the streets. He asked if Pelfrey could be paced under house arrest:

Prosecutors want to keep Pelfrey in jail telling the judge there were reports that Pelfry was reckless.

The judge did not make a decision saying she would consider the request.
