Depot Exercise Will Sound Sirens
– Special to WEKY AM 1340 –
The Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) sirens located in and around the Blue Grass Army Depot will be activated November 16 during the planned quarterly Chemical Accident or Incident Response and Assistance (CAIRA) exercise.
The sirens will sound Westminster Chimes, the sound normally played during siren tests and quarterly exercises. Local residents may hear the sirens, but should not be alarmed.
The Blue Grass Chemical Activity and the Madison County Emergency Management Agency conduct exercises to ensure maximum safety to the community.
