Sleeping Motorist Arrested On Drug Charges

A Berea man identified as Jeffrey Jones, 29, of Blue Lick Road, is in jail on drug charges.

It happened Monday morning when a Berea police officer noticed a car running with the lights on and Jones asleep in the McDonald’s parking lot on Glades Road.

During the investigation Jones told officers that he was not in possession of any illegal substances, however during a search police found three small white rocks suspected to be methamphetamine.

They also found a .38 caliber pistol magazine in his pants pocket and an unloaded Ruger .38 pistol in his jacket pocket.

Jones is charged with first-degree methamphetamine possession and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
