Richmond Man Jailed After Barricading Himself Against Police

A Richmond man is in jail after barricading himself in a bedroom.

Police were called to a domestic assault call Monday evening On East Main Street, when the suspect identified as Larry Sharp, 34, would not come out of the bedroom.

The Richmond Emergency Response Unit was called in to breach the door. Once inside Sharp refused police commands to get on the floor, forcing a confrontation that ended with Sharp’s arrest.

During a search of the house police found two marijuana plants growing under a black light.

Sharp is charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) minor injury, two counts of wanton endangerment of a police officer, first offense of cultivating less than five marijuana plants and tampering with physical evidence.
