Victim & Trooper Identified in Wednesday Night Shooting

The officer and victim have been identified in the officer involved shooting Wednesday night

The suspect that allegedly tried to run over the trooper is identified as Kenneth Huntzinger, 51, of General Nelson Drive, south of Richmond.

The trooper is identified as Toby Coyle, a 16 year veteran to the State Police.

Trooper Coyle was not injured. Huntzinger suffered life threatening injuries and remains at UK Hospital.

Trooper Coyle is on paid administrative leave while the KSP Critical Incident Response Branch investigates the incident.
