Irvine Man Faces 19 Count Indictment
An Estill County man has been on 19 counts of various charges after leading police on a high speed chase October, 2016..
Police say Altus C. Chapman, 67, of Geneva Avenue, drove in excess of 120 mph on the Irvine bypass, including passing vehicles on the wrong side of the road and causing several accidents.
Chapman is charged with seven counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), first-degree flee or evading police (motor vehicle), two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of failure to report a traffic accident, two counts of leaving the scene of accident (failure to render aid or assist), fourth or greater offense operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc. aggravated circumstance), speeding 26 mph or greater over speed limit, reckless driving and failure to produce insurance card.
