Brother And Sister Arrested In Connection Of Overdose Death

Saturday, Richmond Police arrested a brother and sister in connection with a suspected drug overdose death.

Police were called to a home on Killarney Lane in regards to an unresponsive male. Police found the victim in the upstairs bathroom and said he was cold to touch. Officers then notified Madison County EMS who determined the man had died.

The resident of the home, Rebecca Pattison told officers that she discovered the victim and also found a used syringe that she hid before notifying police. Pattison, also admitted to calling her brother, David Neece to help her clean up the scene. She also instructed Neece to remove money from the victim.

During a search of a room where Pattison and the victim stayed, police found crystal methamphetamine, a “Hello Kitty” glass pipe, and a loaded 9MM handgun. Police ran the serial number and determined the gun was stolen. Pattison is a convicted felon and not allowed to be in possession of a gun.

Pattison is charged with tampering evidence, receiving stolen property and trafficking meth. Neece faces evidence tampering and theft charges.

Police suspect that the victim died of an overdose. However, they are awaiting official toxicology results.
