Madison County Babysitter Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison

Bessie Perkins, 25, the woman accused of abusing two children while in her care will spend 25 years in prison.

The Madison County babysitter was sentenced this morning.

Earlier this month she entered a guilty plea to assault and criminal abuse.

In 2015, Elizabeth Renner noticed developmental changes in her month old son, Colton. After taking him to the hospital, doctors determined Colton suffered from retinal hemorrhaging and a brain bleed.

Police also charged her after another child she was babysitting suffered a broken leg.
