2 Charged With Promoting Contraband
Two women already under arrest for drugs now face additional charges after they allegedly tried to sneak drugs into the jail.
Police say Elizabeth Sandlin, 37, of Irvine and Jessica Agee, 27, of Richmond tried to conceal drugs and a syringe in their person.
During a strip search at the jail, a deputy located a plastic bag in Sandlin’s body which contained an unknown substance. Sandlin told deputies the bag contained heroin. During Agee’s search, deputies observed the orange tip of a syringe inside her person.
In addition to possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), they were both charged with first-degree promoting contraband.
Both remain lodged at the Madison County Detention Center.
