Fire Displaces Families In Powell County

A late-night fire leaves three families without a home in Powell County.

The fire started at an apartment building on Hall Branch Road in Stanton at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters say one person was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

They say part of the building was destroyed, displacing seven people.

The American Red Cross is assisting them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
