A run-away camper is blamed for an accident Monday evening that claimed one life and left three injured in Lincoln County.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger, it happened just before 6 p.m. on U.S. 150 near Tin Man Manufacturing.
Folger reports that a truck pulling a camper was traveling eastbound on U.S. 150, when the camper broke loose and crossed into the westbound lane hitting an SUV head on.
According to the sheriff, the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, a 10-month-old baby was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, and two other passengers sustained injuries.
The driver of the pick-up and his passenger escaped injury.
U.S. 150 between KY 1770 and Preachersville Road was closed for several hours while accident reconstruction teams investigated the scene.
