State Offers Rewards In Copper Thefts

Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet along with Kentucky State Police are offering rewards as part of efforts to crack down on theft of copper wire from highway lighting systems.

The two agencies announced they will offer a reward up to $2,500 for information leading to prosecution of anyone responsible for taking copper wire from highway lights.

The reward will be paid from the Transportation Cabinet’s maintenance funds.
