Shoplifting Leads To Drug Charges
What started out as a simple shoplifting investigation Saturday night has ended with multiple charges including drug possession.
According to Richmond Police, Ruby Lewis, 33, of North Third Street admitted to stealing merchandise from Walmart and then ditching the bag of merchandise in the White Castle parking lot.
During the arrest police found a brown powdery substance believed to be heroin and a half of an orange pill in her pocket. Police say Lewis admitted the substance was heroin and suboxone.
Lewis as taken into custody on first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), second-degree possession (drug unspecified) and unlawful taking less than $500.
