Man Accused Of Killing 6 Year Old Competent For Trial
Ronald Exantus, the man accused of entering a Versailles home and stabbing to death of a 6-year-old boy is competent to stand trial.
It happened last year during a home invasion. Police say Exantus stabbed to death Logan Tipton while he was sleeping and assaulted Logan’s sister. Logan’s father got into a fight with Exntus in the home’s hallway and was able to detain him. Exantus was arrested at the scene.
Exantus has been under psychiatric evaluation since his arrest. During testimony Tuesday, a doctor with Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center testified that Exantus heard voices and exhibited odd behaviors before the murder.
Exantus was a nurse in Indiana and was traveling through Kentucky on the night of the stabbing. Police have not released a motive or indicated what led to the attack..
This morning, a judge ruled that Exantus would be competent to stand trial in the murder.
The judge set August 11, 2017 as the trial date.
