Gas Station Employee Accused Of Stealing Thousands Of Dollars In Lottery Tickets

A gas station employee identified as Jimmy Stage, 63, is in jail after he allegedly stole over $49,000 in lottery tickets.

Police say Stage was employed at the Shell Station on Lexington Road and over a period of time would cash in lottery tickets without paying for them. He would keep the money from the winning tickets and throw the others away.

Stage was arrested on Monday for Theft by Unlawful Taking over $10,000.

He is currently being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
