Widespread Damage In Madison & Estill Counties

There are reports of wind damage throughout Madison and Estill Counties.

According to Madison County EMA Deputy Director Michael Bryant, there are reports of multiple trees down, barn roofs blown off and on Route 25 at the BP station widespread damage is reported with several overturned trailers.

There are several unconfirmed reports of tornado touch downs throughout the county. Sightseers are urged to stay home and clear the roadways for access by emergency crews.

In Estill County 12 to 15 homes have reportedly been destroyed.  The car wash on River Drive is said to have been leveled and a possible tornado touchdown at the 500 block of Broadway and River Drive.

An emergency shelter has opened at the Irvine First Baptist Church.

Estill County EMA is asking sightseers to stay home and clear the roadways. Emergency crews are having trouble reaching areas of Estill County due to traffic.
