Man Found Passed Out, Arrested For Trafficking Marijuana

On Saturday, January 16, 2016 at approximately 6:03 a.m. Deputy Buster Dargavell and Deputy Josh Stone responded to Cannon Corner Marathon in reference to a male subject “passed out” in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputy Dargavell and Deputy Stone made contact and identified the male subject as Danny Peters, 23, Richmond.

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, during the course of the investigation, Deputy Dargavell detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. A search was conducted and approximately 35 ounces of marijuana was seized along with money totaling $509.

Danny Peters was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Trafficking in Marijuana (8oz to <5lbs) 1st Offense. Danny Peters was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
