Garrard County Teacher Overdoses On Way To Work

A Garrad County Special Ed Teacher is in trouble after overdosing while on his way to school.

Stanford police say Stephen Grubbs was found unconscious in his vehicle after it rolled into a ditchh at Lee Drive and KY 150.

A Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officer responded to the call and found Grubbs was unconscious in his vehicle. The officer used Narcan to revive him. The KVE officer says Grubbs regained enough consciousness to tell authorities he was on his way back to school when he overdosed.

Grubbs is charged with  DUI – 3rd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving without insurance.

School officials have suspended him with pay pending further investigation.
